Your desert escape begins with a morning pick-up in Marrakech. The road winds into the High Atlas Mountains, where you’ll pass through Berber villages and enjoy sweeping views from the Tizi N’Tichka Pass (2,260 m).
Next, visit the world-famous Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified village and UNESCO treasure, featured in movies like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. After exploring and enjoying lunch, continue to Ouarzazate, Morocco’s cinema hub. The journey takes you further through the green Skoura Oasis and the colorful Rose Valley before reaching Boumalne Dades. Here, a cozy riad awaits you with dinner and a night in the Dades Gorge.
After breakfast, admire the curious rock formations of Dades Gorge, nicknamed the “Monkey Fingers.” Then drive on to Todra Gorges, a spectacular canyon with sheer red walls, where you’ll have free time to walk and relax.
Continuing deeper into the desert, we pass traditional towns like Tinjdad and Touroug, then stop in Erfoud, a center for fossils and local crafts. By late afternoon, we arrive in Merzouga. Your camel caravan awaits to guide you across the Erg Chebbi dunes. Pause on a tall dune to watch the sunset before reaching your luxury desert camp, where dinner, drumming, and an enchanting night under the stars complete the day.
Rise early to greet the Sahara sunrise, then return to Merzouga by camel or 4Ă—4. After breakfast, explore Rissani, a historic town with a lively market, before heading toward Alnif.
We then follow the lush Draa Valley, Morocco’s longest river oasis, lined with palm groves and dotted with kasbahs. Crossing the rugged Anti-Atlas Mountains, the scenery changes once more before stopping in Ouarzazate for a short break. Finally, we return via the Tizi N’Tichka Pass to Marrakech, where your tour concludes with drop-off at your riad or hotel.
